OPEN POSITIONS

Manual Machinist

The ideal candidate for the position of Manual Machinist will possess the knowledge to apply proper machining techniques and procedures according to print specifications, meeting internal and external customer needs and specifications. This is a full-time, day shift position.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Properly setup and operate various manual lathes and mills
  • Machine parts within print tolerance
  • Monitoring the cutting conditions during the machining process and adjust feeds and speeds for process improvement
  • Meet target efficiencies for part duration per work order traveler
  • Performs duties independently or with minimum assistance

Required Skills:

  • 1 (one) year experience operating manual lathes or recent graduate of vocational trade college or school
  • Ability to apply proper machining techniques and procedures
  • Consistently machine +/- .005" features
  • Indicate diameters on 4 jaw chuck with .002” TIR
  • Machine internal and external angles using compound
  • Ability to calculate surface footage
  • Working knowledge of various cutting tools, insert geometries, modern carbide grades
  • Calculate and apply correct surface footage and feed rates per material and tool types
  • Must be able to read and comprehend work instructions, drawings, and blueprints
  • Moderate working knowledge of GD&T
  • Basic computer skills for time entry and document lookup
  • Basic math skills to interpret drawings

Manufacturing Supervisor

The ideal candidate for the position of Manufacturing Supervisor will be well rounded in a machine shop environment, by possessing the required skills to lead and support his/her team of machinists and expedite the machining services with a focus on quality and "on-time" delivery goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily activities of 12+ skilled machinists in specialized small lot run manufacturing environment
  • Planning/Scheduling jobs in machine shop
  • Set quarterly departmental objectives
  • Manage and improve processes as they relate to effective machining practices
  • Continually improve department performance and maintain quality standards
  • Lead, engage and develop employees utilizing growth plan reviews (quarterly)
  • Accountable for all training activities within the plant
  • Apply organizations' policies and procedures as they relate to direct reports

Required Skills and Abilities for this position:

  • Operational experience with various CNC machining centers, Lathes, CNC Gundrills, and deep hole drilling machines
  • Strong working knowledge of various cutting tools, insert geometries, carbide grades and coatings required to machine various alloys, including high temperature super alloys
  • Ability to read, understand and troubleshoot G-code programs
  • Read and understand complex manufacturing drawings that utilize GD&T
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate and maintain good working relationships within the department and all levels of the organization
  • Ability to effectively manage conflict and administer disciplinary performance (when necessary)
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems
  • At least 5 years in manufacturing or machine shop experience
